2024 Partner in Ag Literacy: The Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation
The Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation presented the Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation with the distinguished 2024 Partner in Ag Literacy Award. The Center was honored at the FOA Foundation Breakfast on November 19, during the 2024 Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Hershey, Pa. This award celebrates the Center’s exceptional contributions to agricultural literacy across Pennsylvania.
The Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation promotes agricultural education, particularly through its efforts to educate students and communities about the dairy industry.
Several of their programs include their Adopt A Cow program, which reaches more than 40,000 classrooms; the Dairy Leaders of Tomorrow program, which encourages high school students to explore careers in the dairy industry; and Discover Dairy, which connects students to where their food comes from through interactive classroom lessons and virtual farm tours. They also partner with the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation by hosting an educational session at the Educator’s Ag Institute.
The FOA Foundation submitted the Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation for the National Ag in the Classroom Organization’s national award. This submission brings well-deserved attention to the impactful work being done in Pennsylvania.
“The Center for Dairy Excellence Foundation has made extraordinary strides in advancing agricultural literacy, and we are honored to recognize their unwavering commitment to education,” said Chris Hoffman, Chairman of the FOA Foundation Board. “Their dedication to spreading awareness and understanding of the dairy industry is vital to our mission of promoting agriculture across the state.”
This award highlights the importance of collaboration in agricultural education. The FOA Foundation remains dedicated to supporting organizations and partnerships that make a tangible difference in connecting people to the world of agriculture.
