This month’s Foundation Staff Highlight: Charlene Shupp-Espenshade – Executive Director

Charlene is a 4th Generation dairy farmer, who grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Tunkhannock, PA and now lives on her husband’s 150 year old family farm in Lancaster County. She lives with her husband Matt and two sons, Evan and Alan. Growing up, Charlene was involved in 4-H, Dairy Princesses, FFA, and got hooked on showing cows at the age of 9.

She attended Virginia Tech and studied Dairy Science and Communications. GO HOKIES! Charlene also worked for Lancaster Farming for 15 years prior to becoming Executive Director of the Foundation.

Some of her favorite things include showing cows with her sons, reading and crotchet, and starting a garden every year with fresh produce.
