Ag in Action in the Classroom

Ag in Action in the Classroom

Educator’s Ag Institute provides a unique learning experience for PreK-12th grade formal educators, pre-service teachers and informal community educators. During this experience, teachers are given access to resources and a network of people to assist them in making ag in action in the classroom a reality.

A big thanks to Educator’s Ag Institute attendee Mary Lou Jensen for sharing this set of photos from her classroom utilizing the Farming in the Glove (https://agclassroom.org/matrix/lesson/66/ ) lesson this past spring. This lesson was provided as part of the 2021 Educator’s Ag Institute resource box.

The activity has students sprout different seeds on cotton balls in a glove. This lesson highlights the differences between different types of seeds and how seeds germinate. You can go here to download the lesson. https://agclassroom.org/matrix/lesson/66/

If you’re interested in attending this yearly event, the next event is June 25-29, 2023 and you can read more about ag in action in the classroom on the Educator’s Ag Institute page.
